It was another great day for the annual Nutrition Olympics. This year's Olympics were held on Wednesday, September 24th in the After School Program at Wallace Schools site. Participants were able to try their skills at Coconut Bowling, Apple Toss, Lemon & Lime Races, Cucumber/Eggplant Javelin, and Face Painting.
Nutrition Educators and helpers were manning the mobile kitchen and serving a variety of apples and pumpkins seeds as September's Harvest of the Month. Apple and citrus infused water was available for students and staff to sample and enjoy.
As each student completed the rounds of activities they were awarded Field Day Dog Tags which they wore proudly during this special event.
The Nutrition Olympics are sponsored by KUSD/KRV Family Resource Center, KUSD After School Programs, and the California Department of Public Health's Nutrition Education and Obesity Prevention Branch with funding through USDA Snap-Ed.
